Jersey Boys !

Caught this musical twice and I'm not bored of it even though I went for the second time. The music was simply fabulous! I did not watch the Broadway cast for this, but was blown away by the SA Cast that performed this musical in Singapore already. They brought my appreciation of music back in the 80s to another level.

Presenting, the SA Cast for Jeresey Boys in Singapore! From Left to Right :

Bob Guadio whom was portrayed by Kenneth Meyer. He was the one whom sang December 1963 ( What A Night ), one of my favorite songs in the musical. He has this super sexy bass tone in his voice that is really pleasant to hear.

Tommy DeVito whom was portrayed by Daniel BΓΌys. Another amazing singer I must say. He's really friendly and also super charismatic as well. As for his character in the musical, he's the "bad" person out of the 4 of em. A Gambler having excessive debts yet to pay off.

Frank Valli whom was portrayed by Grant Almirall. When I hear him sing, it's simply just mind blowing. The octaves he reached to mimic the character of Frank Valli were stunning! I was amazed by how he's able to last through the 2 hours musical singing Frank Valli's range. It's not easy, guess it was hard work paid off for him.

Nick Massi whom was portrayed by Emmanuel Castis. His character in the musical was a joker. Couldn't stop laughing at the part whereby he kept emphasizing on his gut feeling of starting his own band.

Last but not least..

A picture with the cast of Jersey Boys ! Awesome peeps, singing amazingly, putting up a spectacular musical..

Those whom haven't watch the musical, what are you waiting for? The show is coming to an end in 3 days! Do catch them before it ends, i assure it's worth 2 hours of your time there watching them perform.

Les Miserables

Caught this show yesterday in theaters and I must say, it's fabulous. Comparing with the musical version, I would say both are equally nice. I don't know why the movie version made me tear more, probably because it's more visually realistic. I ain't gonna blog about the story here, but just gonna single out a few characters I find super influential to me.

Firstly Marius Pontmercy whom was played by Eddie Redmayne. I personally find that he portrayed this role better compared to the musical one some how. Personal preference yo! Anyway, the character Marius was so different from the book. Of course I preferred the musical and theater version more, because in the book he is cruel and shrewd. He was rather romantic and gentle. One of the best male lead role in a romance story you can ever get I suppose.

Another character that I find super influential is Fantine whom was played by Anna Hathaway. If you've watched disney channel's princess diaries OR the dark knight rises, you'll know who is she. Fantine is the mother of Cosette. I admire her sacrifice and courage to become a prostitute just to earn money for medicine to save her ill daughter.

The last character is non other than Jean Valjean whom was played by Hugh Jackman. Wolverine from x-men sums up who he is. It's quite difficult to put how much I admire this character in words. You've got to catch the movie to be able to understand!
